Ryan Frasier Smith is a young, versatile pianist from South Carolina. He presents
both sacred and classical programs in a number of venues. Ryan performed at the
Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, S.C., the Palmetto Theatre, and was a
winner in the Bob Jones University-University of South Carolina Recital Exchange
Competition. He has also performed for a number of churches' concert series.
He performed in 2005 in Carnegie Hall in New York City under the auspices of
Christian Music Presenters.
Ryan is a member of the Music Teacher's National Association, and the Columbia
Music Teachers Association. In 2007 Ryan was designated a Nationally Certified
Teacher of Music by the National Music Teachers' Association. Ryan has recently
been added to the SC Arts Commission Approved Artist Roster list for Arts in Education grants.
Ryan is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of South Carolina in piano performance. where he studies with Dr. Charles Fugo. He graduated from Furman University in addition to earning a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies with high honors at Dallas Theological Seminary. He coaches with Sheila Paige and now serves as an administrator for the Piano Wellness Seminar. He has also studied with Ruby Morgan and Marina Lomazov.
In addition to performing, Ryan is a frequent adjudicator and accompanist. He maintains a private studio in Columbia, South Carolina.
